Lighting Design

CHUAN-CHI CHAN (Lighting Designer) is originally from Taiwan. Miss Chan was a 29th Helen Hayes Award Nominee for Outstanding Lighting Design, Resident production, and was recently invited by the National Taiwan University Department of Drama and Theatre to join its faculty as an adjunct instructor, specialize in lighting design for performing arts.

Her recent Lighting Design credits include: Twelfth Night ( National Taiwan University, Drama and Theatre Department, May 2014, Taipei Taiwan) August: Osage County ( Greenray Theatre Company, March 2014, Taipei Taiwan) The Servant of Two Masters (Seattle Repertory Theatre, 2013; Arts Emerson, 2013; Guthrie Theater, 2012 ;Shakespeare Theatre Company, DC, 2012; Yale Repertory theater, 2010), Next To Normal/ Pterodactyls (Red House Art Center, 2014), Peter Pan  (Red House Art Center, 2013) , Caucasian Chalk Circle  (Stella Adler Studio of Acting, 2013), Instant Vaudeville: Breaking Bamboo (2ed Generation, 2012 ), TALA workshop (Pacific Beat Collective, 2012 ), We Have Been Here Before (Yin Yue Dance, New York Fringe Festival, 2012)  I ♥ BOB (Parallel Exit, 2012 ), God of Carnage ( ShangHai Dramatic Art Center, China, 2011 ), Bandage ( The 2010 Brick Theater Fight Festival ), Good Egg (The Red Fern Theater, 2010 ), Strange Love in Outer Space (2010 New York Fringe Festival, Yale Cabaret 2009). She also worked as a Production Designer for Hero Club (New York Film Academy, 2011).

Miss Chan received her M.F.A. in Design from Yale School of Drama, where her design credits include The Seagull (2009 Second Year Acting Project), The Bedtrick (2009 Carlotta Festival of New Plays), The Robbers, and Peer Gynt.

After Chuan-Chi received her B.A. ( Drama and Theater ) from National Taiwan University. she worked in Taiwan theater industry and was involved in productions with Cloud Gate Dance Company, Tainaner Ensemble, Ming Hwa Yuan Arts & Cultural Group and many great performing art groups. Her earlier design credits in Taiwan include Woyzeck (New Play Festival by Tainaner Ensemble, 2006 ) and The Rose Jailed by Moonlight (Taiwan Artist Theater).
