Soule Golden – Costume Designer



SOULE GOLDEN (Costume Designer) has spent her life learning about the world through textiles. She believes in collective art and the collaborative process. After childhood exploration in sewing, drawing, and dance, Soule took classes at Fashion Institute of Technology and eventually earned a Bachelor of Science in Textiles from Cornell University. Her first work experiences were with The Santa Fe Opera and The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. She later went on to work as a painter and dyer for Broadway, film, and fashion in New York. Soule has designed costumes for To Know Her at the Joffrey Ballet, Deshar Alhat & Cugat! with Luna Negra Dance Theater, The Music Man with Light Opera Works Chicago, Betrayal & Drowned World in Chicago Storefront Theaters, Mikado, Iolanthe, HMS Pinafore, & Ruddigore with Chicago Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Co., Reefer Madness & Caroline, or Change at The Gallery Players Brooklyn, On the Floor with The Dance Cartel, Hedda Gabler at Yale School of Drama, andCaucasian Chalk Circle at Yale Repertory Theater where she is pursuing her M.F.A. She will design the U.S. premier of Le Probleme by François Bégaudeau translated by Sarah Krasnow this fall.
Soule recieved two Cornell University Arts Council Grants to produceNomad, a Line of Clothes for Transients and Yuppyfunk. She was nominated for a New Hampshire Theater Award for Fiddler on the Roof at Mount Washington Valley Theater. At Yale, she received the Jay and Rhonda Keene Scholarship and the Richard Harrison Scenie Scholarship.
