Alex Neumann is a sound designer, music editor, and audio producer whose wide experience on Broadway and background as a violist inform his approach to creativity and problem-solving in theatre and the sound arts. His work extends from large scale musicals, to live events of the highest caliber, to large-scale system programming and implementation. Alex's background as a musician brings a communication style to his work with composers, arrangers, and music directors that lends itself to a seamless vision for the aural identity of a project. As comfortable with classical naturalism as with bombastic new shows he is able to support the work in any way that meets the needs of the production.
Alex’s most recent sound design work includes the critically acclaimed 2022 Broadway revival of Into The Woods, the Fiddler on the Roof national tour, and Footloose aboard the Norwegian Joy. Alex has also worked across the country with companies such as American Repertory Theatre, Portland Center Stage, The Huntington Theatre Company, Hartford Stage, and La Jolla Playhouse.
Alex holds a B.A. in Music from SUNY Potsdam, and a M.F.A. in sound design from Boston University.
