ELIZABETH HOPE CLANCY (Costume Designer) Broadway credits in costume design include A Christmas Story; The Musical, Passing Strange, Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, and Arthur Miller’s The Ride Down Mt. Morgan. International work includes The Glass Menagerie at Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, Death of a Salesman at the Gate Theatre, and A Few Good Men on the West End. She designed the costumes for the Shakespeare in the Park production of Measure for Measure, directed by David Esbjornson. Favorite Off-Broadway credits include The Lady from Dubuque, The Oldest Profession (Henry Hewes nomination), The Last of the Thorntons (Signature Theatre), Hamlet (TFANA), A Dybbuk, In The Blood (Public Theater), The Wax and Memory House (Playwrights Horizons), Waiting for Godot, Endgame and The Entertainer (Classic Stage Company), Adam Rapp’s Finer Noble Gases (Rattlestick), and The Antigone Project (Women’s Project, Henry Hewes nomination). Ms. Clancy’s regional theatre credits include productions at Arena Stage, The Guthrie Theater, Mark Taper Forum, 5th Avenue Theatre, Huntington Theatre, Intiman, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Kansas City Rep, Hartford Stage, Long Wharf, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, The Geffen Playhouse and many others. Opera credits include Der Zigeunerbaron, Griffelkin, A Month in the Country and The Rape of Lucretia at Manhattan School of Music, Don Giovanni at Wolf Trap Opera and La Boheme at Opera Delaware. Ms. Clancy has been the resident costume designer for Sally Silvers Dance since 1998 and has also designed for choreographers Yvonne Rainer, Pat Catterson, Karen Sherman and Kate Gyllenhaal. She designed the “uniforms” for the marching band The Asphalt Orchestra featured at Lincoln Center’s Out of Doors Festival. She has styled concert wardrobe for musicians Sunny Jain of Red Baraat, Heidi Rodewald and Stew. She holds a B.A. in Theatre from The College of William and Mary and an M.F.A. in design from The Yale School of Drama.
