Lighting Design

STACEY BOGGS is aNew York based award-winning lighting designer whose works include La Calisto (Montclair University), La Carmencita (Lincoln Center), 9 to 5 (Ohio Northern University), RENT! (La Guardia High School), Verses at Work (651 Arts), Make a Joyful Noize (Soul Science Lab), Fandango for Butterlies (and Coyotes) co-design with Lucrecia Briceno (La Jolla Playhouse), Afrocosmicmelatopia (Afrofuturism Festival), Everything for Dawn (Experiments in Opera), Marguerite (APAC), The In[heir]itance Project (14th Street Y), Amp (Winner NYIT Best Lighting Design, 2018), NYCCT’s Interstellar Cinderella, Love that Dog, and Please Bring Balloons, Theatre Three’s Murder on the Orient Express, TickTick…Boom!, Something Rotten, Guys and Dolls, The Miracle Worker (Winner BroadwayWorld’s Long Island Award Best Lighting Design, 2019), and The Diary of Anne Frank, Oklahoma! (Fairleigh Dickinson University), Katzelmacher (Minor Latham Playhouse), Waterwell’s Marco Millions (based on lies), The|King|Operetta, #9, I Love a Piano (national tour).

She has designed choreographers Bill T. Jones’ and Dianne McIntyre’s Come Around Part IV (with Ymusic), Bill T. Jones’ What is this Place?, Doug Varone’s Nocturne 2017, Ladito (José Maldonado), and Catch Her if You Can (Maria Kocketkova).  She has also designed for Manuel Vignoulle, RobertMoses, Christopher Wheeldon, and Mina Yoo.

She has designed serval concerts at Carnegie Hall including LinkUp, Musical Explorers, The Just and the Blind with Marc Bamuthi Joseph and Soul Mechanism with Toshi Reagon.  She has designed scenery and lighting for Carnegie Hall’s Wellness Concerts, where wellness and music is blended to supports the audience members.  

Stacey and an amazing team won the 2025 Robert L.B. TobinDirector-Designer Prize for their collaboration on La Traviata.  The team consists of Rebecca Miller Kratzer(Director), Tyler Herald (Set Designer), Camilla Dely (Costume Designer), and Anisa Rose Threlkeld (Dramaturgy).

She graduated from the University of Evansville with a BS inTheater and Technology and NYU Graduate Design Program with an MFA in LightingDesign.  Proud member of USA 829.
